Roote Graduate in style



Students graduating from the BA (Hons.)  Fine Art course this summer have created quite a stir during their recent exhibition titled ‘Roote’ at London’s Truman Brewery venue as part of the annual Free Range showcase for art and design graduates across the country.

In their words:
‘The exhibition has been organised almost exclusively by the students themselves, demonstrating that there is so much more to being an artist than merely producing work from the confines of a studio.  In actual fact, the inspiration behind what can be seen at ROOTE has come from endless experimentation and the pushing of boundaries.  Travel, re-appropriation, religion, the environment and play are some areas explored and developed by these new professionals, who, as a by-product of their work, are questioning the very notion of ‘the studio’ itself. ‘
